32nd Australian National Go Championships

Presenting the 32nd Australian National Go Championship, hosted this year in Melbourne by Students Playing Go in conjunction with Melbourne Go Lovers. This prestigious event is a great opportunity for you to meet and compete with fellow go players from around Australia and win some prizes!

Details as follows:-

Date- 3rd + 4th October 2009
Time- 9.30am- 5pm (Please arrive by 9 for registration)
Place- Members' Lounge, Ground Floor Union House, Melbourne University
Entry Fee- $50 (Student Concession-$40, please present proof during registration)

Dan players to Beginners are welcomed and highly encouraged to join, games are divided by ranking divisions with a handicap system in place. Please send your entry form (attached) or any enquiries to mail@spgo.org.au.
A BBQ lunch will be served on Sunday.

Semester 02, 2009 Room Locations

New room locations for Semester Two of 2009.
Tuesday: (same time, 1-3pm), Alice Hoy Bldg Rm109. (Down the stairs that lead underground.)
Friday: Same time, same location.

In addition to the room changes, there is a Semester Two Beginners' Night. If you would like to learn more about Go, plays a few games to improve and of course, play for fun, then please come by to the Beginners' Night. We welcome new players and not-so-new players alike. Even if you do know how to play, do come by, so you can help us teach the newcomers.

Time: 4-7pm
Location: Graham Cornish Room A & B, 2nd Floor Union House (opposite Rowden White Library)
Food: Yes, there will be.

One more thing, that is the National Australian Go Tournament. This year it is being hosted in Melbourne, by us. If you would like to participate, please check the Australian Go Association website (in the tab, or if it isn't, google it) and download a registration form. If you would like to volunteer on the day, please email us and let us know. Volunteers will receive our love and adoration, but also, will be able to pay the discounted entry fee if it applicable.
