Welcome back to Semester Two of 2010! We hope that you've had a lovely break and has come back for more go-related fun =D
A BIG BIG reminder to all club members and go enthusiasts, our AGM will be taking place this Friday, so please come along to support your local awesome friendly go club and help keep us alive. YOUR GO CLUB NEEDS YOU! So please rock up, bring some friends, have some pizza and a chat, and play some go.
The Details:-
13th of August - Friday The Thirteenth, with an official start at 1:20pm. Pizza and drinks will be around from 1pm.
Alice Hoy Building, Room 109 at Melbourne Uni. We'll be letting you know about what's been happening with the club, the events that will be going on, and having elections for the NEW COMMITTEE for 2010-2011. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to participate in university life by becoming a committee member of a tremendously awesome club, plump up your CV and help promote go to the community. So if you love go, please consider taking up one of the following positions:-
President: Enthusiastic person who has the motivation to run a club, and communication skills to work with the rest of the committee. Their job is to have a direction for the club, and make sure events and general administration of the club is running.
Treasurer: Reliable and organized (Also, trustworthy.) Runs the club's finances and gives the committee an idea of a budget at events. All the money-related aspects are usually taken care by the Treasurer.
Secretary: (Organized, and works well with other people.) Runs the paperwork side of things. This includes applying for grants and organizing dates and times of events.
Publicity Director:(Communication skills and enthusiasm.) Handles the website (and related media), marketing related stuff, types up emails and is a figurehead for the public. Maintains the club so it looks good.
Tournament Organizer: (Organized and attentive to detail) Aside from tournaments, this person also organizes activities and events such as Beginners' night and Games night.
General Committee Representative: (Enthusiastic and reliable) The jack-of-all-trades.
All skills and everything you need to know will be taught and/or guided through. No prior experience is necessary.
